Matchbox Twenty, The Wallflowers Coming to Sands

Award-winning pop/rock bands Matchbox Twenty and The Wallflowers have been scheduled to play Sands Bethlehem Event Center. Tickets go on sale Friday.

The Sands Bethlehem Event Center has announced that it will be hosting concerts by pop rock superstars The Wallflowers and Matchbox Twenty. Tickets for both concerts go on sale to the general public on Friday.

Matchbox Twenty recently announced dates for its 2013 North American tour, with plans to arrive in Bethlehem for a show on Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 7:30pm. The band is touring to support its album North, which was released in September, jumping immediately to Number 1 on the SoundScan/Billboard 200.

The album’s first single, “She’s So Mean,” has jumped into the Top 40 in a number of Billboard’s music charts.

“Matchbox Twenty is one of the best known modern pop-rock bands. We are honored to have them as part of our lineup,” said Jerry Deifer on behalf of Vision Entertainment Group, which is the Sands’ operating partner at the event center. “It’s been a great ride so far, but our 2013 season is sure to set a new standard in entertainment for our area.”

In addition to more than 30 million records sold worldwide, Matchbox Twenty has also earned five Grammy nominations, four American Music Award nods and the 2004 People’s Choice Award for “Favorite Musical Group.”

Band frontman Rob Thomas has also earned a number of honors, including three Grammy awards and two Billboard “Songwriter of the Year” awards.

Matchbox Twenty will also be teaming up with Tickets-for-Charity to offer fans access to some of the best seats in the house while benefiting great causes at the same time. Every ticket purchased through TicketsforCharity.com creates a donation to charities supported by Matchbox Twenty, as well as causes fans themselves can choose to support.

Pre-sale tickets for all dates will be available to members of the matchboxtwenty.com community from Nov. 13 through Nov. 15. All remaining tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, Nov. 16 at 10am, with prices ranging from $59.50 to $125.00 for suites.

The Wallflowers are embarking on a tour in support of their new album, Glad All Over, which was released in October. The band had not been active in seven years. The first single, "Reboot The Mission," features Mick Jones from The Clash.

The band, led by Jakob Dylan, comes to the Sands Event Center on Thursday, Dec. 27 at 8pm.

Together since 1989, the band exploded in popularity in 1996 with its second album, "Bringing Down the Horse," with singles “6th Avenue Heartache,” “One Headlight” and “Three Marlenas.”

“One Headlight” won one of two Grammy awards for the group for “Best Rock Song of the Year” in 1998.

Tickets for The Wallflowers will go on sale Friday, Nov. 16 at 10am, with prices ranging from $29.50 to $39.50.

Just pointing out facts. You are also forgetting that money withdrawn from an IRA or 401k (exceptRead More Roth IRAs) are taxed at withdrawal. I prefer my government not punish good financial actions. Sorry it's a quirk of mine, I think we should reward those who make good decisions, not punish them.

I agree with you Interested Bystander. Problem is that if you punish the ones making the badRead More decisions, the Federal government will be punished all the time. In the current climate, poor decision making gets rewarded by voters. The middle class doesn't have a chance.

Naziti and Caroline Johnson so sorry to take so long to get back to you from your comments onRead More Sunday, May 5th, I didn't think I would have to respond. I re-posted Ken's comment because the REAL issue is "AARP selling out it's faithful supporters for BIG MONEY. So let me break it down so even the Soros trolls understand. ObamaCare guts SS and medicare reserve money by 750 Billion. Which ends these programs as we know them. AARP publicly backs ObamaCare. Seniors confused about OCare but trust AARP and their massive ad campaign for OCare. AARP contributes to re-election AARP becomes insurance provided for OCare. Unleashes host of insurance options that Seniors will be needing to make decisions about in next 2-3 years. Complicate the choices for Seniors so they fall back on who they have trusted in the past. Still unaware of the great deception perpetrated by AARP. OCARE fully enacted 2014. AARP gets steady $$$ insurance income now (not $16 membership fees for whoever posted that line above). SS and MediCare bankrupt (3/4 trillion $ stolen to fund OCare) Result for SENIORS. NO SS or MEDicare it's dissolved or becomes something less. Free OCare that sucks. Pay AARP for supplemental Ins. Prescriptions too expensive to purchase so go without or pay AARP for better plan. AARP richer and more powerful represents Gvmt Seniors - Self rule lost You see they screwed the very people that paid dues for their protection!
