Great Escape: Spring Time in Paris

2011 Philadelphia International Flower Show

It is difficult for most people to jet set to Paris, but Paris is coming to you this year at the 2011 Philadelphia International Flower Show hosting “Springtime in Paris.”  Paris is known for its art, fashion, food and, of course,l’amour—love.  The Flower Show delivers no less than a Parisian experience inspired by the grandeur of the Tuileries, the cabaret performances of the Moulin Rouge and the romantic country side along the Seine River.

Featured displays will highlight:

  • Opulent Paris, a time of Victorian glamour.
  • Romantic Paris, tête-à-tête down the Seine.
  • Gourmet Paris, amid rooftop and edible gardens.
  • Artists’ Paris, from canvas to landscape.
  • Underground Paris, a catacomb of avant-garde art.
  • Timeless Paris, courtyards and cafes form a Parisian paradise.

Not only will you feel like you are in Paris but, you can bring it home with you.  With over 100’s of gardening presentations, educational displays and gardening products, you will learn how to create a Parisian landscape rivaling the artistry of Claude Monet or Paul Cezanne.  While you are in Philadelphia, you could take in some of the French masters like Monet or Cezanne at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and don’t forget the sculpture of Rodin at the the Rodin Museum. Free wine tastings will enhance your experience of spring in Paris at the Flower Show.
