Get Out: Fundraisers and Old-Fashioned Fun

De-stress with beer and margaritas; play bingo; watch baseball; and go hula-hooping for cancer.

Friday night isn’t just about having fun. For many who have busy weeks, it’s a time to blow off steam. I can’t think of a better way to de-stress from the week than kicking back at the Allentown Brew Works for Margarita’s and Beer Sampling to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Get your global groove on with Rhythms: An Evening of International Dance raising funds for the YES! For Schools Program and the American Red Cross.

For some good old-fashioned fun, the Iron Pigs are back out on the diamond all weekend against the Norfolk Tides. On Friday night, the Beethoven Waldheim in Hellertown is hosting Bingo Night, and there’s nothing old fashioned about winning cash.

Start Saturday off with Hooping for a Cure, a charitable event where kids can participate in hula hooping, activities, crafts and food to raise awareness for lung cancer. Saturday night, leave the kids with a baby sitter and take in some live music with Buskin and Battaeu at Godfrey Daniels or Mike Doughty at the Musikfest Café.

Sunday, get your bike and gear up for another fundraiser, Wheels to Heal Breast Cancer.  It’s a charitable weekend in the LV Valley.
