Forget the Rain and Get Out!

Historic Bethlehem's Dine and Dash and a movie with the mounted police highlight weekend events.

The weather this week proves to be a challenge for getting out but that’s not a problem if you are looking for something to do this weekend.

The dine and dash will take on a whole new meaning if it is raining, but, if you can run between the drops to the various sites on the route, the proves to be a big social hit with wine, beer, hors d’oeuvres and a great deal of Civil War history along the way.

If the weather is nice, take the kids out to Burnside Plantation for a free outdoor screening of Seabiscuit and a glimpse at the real life horses of the Bethlehem Mounted Police.

If talent is what you are seeking on Friday night, look no further than the that will benefit the performing arts at Saucon Valley High School. Talent is also abounding on the music scene this weekend with live performances at Musikfest Café on Friday, and both Friday and Saturday.

Saturday morning’s at Southern Lehigh Library might fall in the middle of our rain spell but, surely you will be happy you attended when the dry summer hits mid-July.  Another educational workshop, the Leader of the Pack Canine Institute, hosted by the Red Cross of the Lehigh Valley, will teach you how to do emergency medical care including CPR on your pets.
