Valley Contra Dance

To see and hear a contra dance, go to www.contrausa.com or search for contra dance on U-Tube.  Informal, sociable, aerobic partner dancing to live acoustic music.  The figures are called by a caller, but unlike club squares, there are no costumes and we welcome newcomers.   Our event draws about 85 dancers from the Lehigh Valley, Wilkes Barre, Harrisburg, Elverson, Glenside, western NJ, and Delaware.   In operation for 15 years in Bethlehem, we were recognized with the Bethlehem Arts Commission's Tribute to the Arts award for an arts organization in 2009.  You don't need to bring a partner; amiable partners are plentiful on-site.   A lesson for new dancers at 7 p.m. enables you to have fun from the start.
