Holiday of History Celebration

Join us on Saturday, July 7, as we celebrate our 3rd Annual Holiday of History with displays, demonstrations, and book signings! The events taking place are as follows:

  • 11am to 1pm -- The Native American Heritage Programs organization will present Lenape Lifeways. Discover the first people of Pennsylvania and the Lehigh Valley through this fascinating presentation featuring demonstrations and hands-on interactive exhibits that will introduce you to the history, customs, and contributions of the Lenni Lenape. (Note: The basic program can help Boy/Girl Scouts meet various badge/patch requirements. Please check your handbooks.)
  • 12pm to 2pm -- Rev. Dr. Douglas Caldwell and Rev. Carol A. Reifinger will visit and sign copies of Let Us Go Over to Bethlehem: A Guide to the Moravian Community. This local hit covers the founding of Bethlehem, the growth of the Moravian Community, and presents a photographic guide to the Historic District of Downtown Bethlehem.
  • 2pm to 4pm -- Colonel Washington and Me covers the story of George Washington and his remarkable relationship with his slave, William Lee, during the Revolutionary days of America. Join author Jeffery E. Finegan and Illustrator Preston Keith Hindmarch as they discuss this unique biography and showcase highlights from an original collection of George Washington archives.
