Big Bad Voodoo Daddy Coming to Musikfest Cafe

Veteran swing/big band scheduled to appear on May 23. Tickets for this and other recently announced shows to go on sale Tuesday.

 

Swing/big band Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Tony Award winner Faith Prince, George LaMond and comedian Doug Benson are among the recently announced acts scheduled to appear at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks.

Tickets for these shows will go on sale Tuesday at 10 a.m., to ArtsQuest Members and Friday at, 10 a.m., to the public. They’ll be available at artsquest.org and 610-332-3378.

Since its arrival on the music scene in 1993 in a legendary residency at Los Angeles’ Brown Derby nightclub, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy has entertained listeners throughout the nation with its fusion of classic American sounds including jazz, swing, Dixieland and big band.

 

Latin Dance Night featuring George LaMond - May 31, 10 p.m. (Musikfest Café)

Tickets: $12 and $15 in advance; $18 and $20 day of show

American freestyle artist George LaMond has had several hits on the dance and Latin charts including “Bad of the Heart,” which reached No. 25 on the Billboard Hot 100, and “No Matter What,” a duet with Brenda K. Starr that hit No. 49 on the Hot 100.

 

Faith Prince - Have a Little Faith - June 2, 7 p.m. (Fowler Blast Furnace Room)

Tickets: $45

Tony Award winner Faith Prince dazzles audiences as she moves effortlessly between theater, concerts, television and movies. Her latest concert, Have A Little Faith, is a “smorgasbord” of Faith Prince: past, present and future.

Tickets: $8 and $12 in advance; $10 and $15 day of show

This dynamic group specializes in getting the crowd out on the dance floor by serving up the best soul, R&B, funk, dance and party music from the past 40 years.

 

Doug Benson - Sept. 7, 8:30 p.m. (Musikfest Café)

Tickets: $19 and $24 in advance; $24 and $29 day of show

A top-six finisher on Last Comic Standing, Doug Benson is a regular on Jimmy Kimmel Live, has two Comedy Central Presents specials.
