Bethlehem Actor in Rob Zombie Commercial

Bethlehem-born actor Daniel Roebuck plays a mad scientist-type character in a new commercial for Amdro bug killer directed by Rob Zombie.

Morning Call writer Kathy Lauer-Williams says the spot is hilarious and calls Roebuck one of the hardest working actors on television.

Roebuck's website says he made TV history when, as Dr. Leslie Artzt, he exploded on camera in the season finale of "Lost."

His roles have ranged from a Romulan on "Star Trek: The Next Generation" to an Army lieutenant on "The West Wing." Also, Roebuck played Jay Leno in "The Late Shift."

Roebuck's credits include:

• Three seasons as a regular on "Matlock"
• Roles in "The Fugitive"  and "U.S. Marshals" with Tommy Lee Jones
• Playing the father of Dave Karofsky on "Glee" 
• Appearances on "Desperate Housewives," "Law and Order," "NYPD Blue," "CSI," "Ghost Wisperer," "Six Feet Under" and "Any Day Now"

He will appear in the September 22 season premier of "The Mentalist" on CBS.

Roebuck, who graduated from , lives in southern California with his wife and two children.
