A sculpture created by Virginia Abbott and children participants at the 2012 show will be raffled to benefit the commission’s children’s art program.

The piece, entitled “Faces,” is an “up-cycled” sculpture from found and discarded objects. Ms Abbott is a nationally recognized sculptor whose work addresses a variety of environmental issues.

Judging takes place Saturday and the judge this year is Hannah Burke, the curator and visual arts and education coordinator at ArtsQuest. Along with selecting the Best of Show, Second Prize, Third Prize, and Best Display, the judge also chooses a piece of art for the Purchase Prize.

The commission purchases this and presents it to the mayor annually as a gift to the City of Bethlehem.
