9th ANNUAL HISTORIC TURKEY TROT- 5K RUN & FITNESS WALK ()

  • WHERE/WHEN: Luckenbach Mill, 459 Old York Road, Bethlehem, Saturday, registration 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m., race begins 9 a.m. rain or shine.
  • WHY GO: Burn off that second helping of Thanksgiving dinner with a trot around the picturesque Colonial Industrial Quarter along the Monocacy Creek and down through along the Lehigh River. Trotters get free admission on Saturday to Historic Bethlehem museums, refreshments, goodie bags and entertainment by DJ Emcee.

WEINACHTSMART ()

  • WHERE/WHEN: , The Smithy & Central Moravian’s Church Green, Friday – Saturday, 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • WHY GO: If you are still lamenting the move of to the SouthSide, you might check out this new tradition. Filled with every bit of old-world nostalgia, this outdoor festival boasts over 50 vendors of food, crafters and live holiday music.

ENTER THE HAGGIS/ SOUTHSIDE JOHNNY & THE ASBURY JUKES (ARTSQUEST)

  • WHERE/WHEN: , 101 Founders Way, South Side Bethlehem, Friday, Haggis at 8 p.m. Saturday, Southside Johnny at 7:30 p.m.
  • WHY GO: No, it’s not a competition held over from Celtic Fest. It’s actually a Toronto based Indie Band whose rock style is as eclectic as a side of haggis. Saturday, Johnny and the Asbury Jukes will be rockin’ it Springsteen style.
  • PRICING: Friday Tickets, $37 Balcony, $32 Standing room only; Saturday Tickets: $51 Balcony, $41, cabaret and SRO. $10 minimum food and beverage.

 

JAMES SUPRA BLUES BAND/ ROY BOOK BINDER ()

  • WHY GO: It’s the Blues at its best with James Supra on Friday and “The Book” on Saturday. While Supra is a master on the harmonic, delivering a gritty and raw version of Blues. Roy, a student of the Rev. Gary Davis, serves up blues reminiscent of his days touring with Bonnie Raitt and JJ Cale & Hot Tuna.

ADVENT WORKSHOP, LOVEFEAST & ORGAN CONCERT ()

  • WHERE/WHEN: Central Moravian Church, Main & Church St., Bethlehem , Sunday, 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Concert 3 p.m. – 4 p.m.
  • WHY GO: The Advent season opens with the traditional Moravian lovefeast, a non-sacramental meal of sweet rolls, coffee and hymns. All are welcome to join the Advent workshop with Yuletide crafts for all ages at 9 a.m. and the Lovefeast at 11 a.m. The concert will include Advent & Moravian hymns performed by Central Moravian’s music director Rebecca Kleintop Owens. 
  • PRICING: Suggested donation for the organ concert, $10.
