Sign Up for Officer Robert Lasso 5K Run

The T-shirt registration deadline for the second annual Robert Lasso Memorial 5K Run is fast approaching.

The second annual Bethlehem road race, which raises money for the Robert Lasso Memorial Fund, will be held on Saturday, April 20 at 8:30 a.m.

Officers in the Bethlehem Police Department organized the first event last year and .

The run will start and finish at the Bethlehem YMCA, 430 E. Broad St. Registration fee for the run/walk is $25.00. A registration form is attached to this story.

Robert Lasso was a nine-year veteran of the Freemansburg Borough Police Department when he was killed in the line of duty on Aug. 11, 2011 while responding to a call. He is survived by a wife and two young children.

Race applications received after Monday will not be eligible for race shirts.

Race Packets will be available for pick-up on April 19 at the Bethlehem YMCA from 12 to 8 p.m. Packets can be picked on race day starting at the Bethlehem YMCA from 7 to 8 a.m.

The course is described as mostly flat and fast with two challenging inclines to start and finish. Awards will be given for overall men and women and masters men and women.
