Pennsylvania's highest-ever wind gust - 81 mph - was recorded in Allentown as the storm blew through on Monday night, according to a Lehigh Valley Live report.

Powerful 70 mph gusts were also recorded at Lehigh Valley International Airport and in Bushkill Township.

Eighty miles per hour converts to about 70 knots, which is a hurricane-force wind speed classification, according to the Beaufort Wind Scale. That's a gust seldom experienced on land.
