Mars Attacks Historic Bethlehem

The Sun Inn will host Movies by Moonlight Series Thursday, with showing of campy sci-fi classic.

It will be an evening of out of this world entertainment at the in Historic Downtown Bethlehem on Thursday.

The Movies by Moonlight Series continues with a showing of Mars Attacks! The offbeat sci-fi epic stars Jack Nicholson and Glenn Close fighting against hundreds of stop-motion aliens that plan to destroy Washington DC and other prominent U.S. cities.

Beam over to the Sun Inn Courtyard at 6 p.m. for the start of the fun. Girlfriends Boutique is sponsoring the free event and it will be an evening to remember.

The film will be shown on a larger than normal Movies at Moonlight Screen. The one used on Thursday will be 25-by-14 feet with an HD1080P-projector and 5.1 surround sound.

An actual flying saucer will set the tone as will ladies from the Martian Tourism Bureau. The ship, owned by Dave Godiska from Northampton Gallery of Pianos, was purchased a few years ago and is a Hollywood movie prop that was actually used in Mars Attacks!

Dress to impress for your chance to win $100. Contests for the best male space costume, best female space costume, funniest space costume and the most original space costume will be held before the film is shown at 9 p.m. You could also win an original collectible Mars Attacks Poster worth $50.
