Hot Weather, Book Sale, English Beat Ahead This Week

Here's a look at the week ahead in Bethlehem.

Good morning everyone. I'm Tom Coombe, Patch's Field Editor for the Lehigh Valley. I've been filling in for Daryl Nerl this week while he's off. He'll back back on duty Monday.

Until then, let's take a look at what the week ahead has to offer.

First off, it's going to be hot and humid all week. The National Weather Service says the heat index could hit the 100 mark this week, especially Wednesday and Thursday.

If you're not afraid of the heat, you might want to check out the 24th annual Moravian Music Festival, which returns to Bethlehem this week for the first time in 21 years.

The festival runs from Sunday to Saturday, and all concerts are free expect for the show by Tim Zimmerman and the King's Bass Tuesday evening.

For information/ticket availability, call 610-866-5661 ext. 206. For more information contact Lisa Jordan at (610)-867-1689

The English Beat plays Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Musikfest Cafe, followed by Dennis DeYoung of Styx on Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m.

Need something to read? The Bethlehem Public Library is holding a book sale this week, Wednesday from noon to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the library at 11 W. Church St.

The sale includes over 20,000 books, DVDs, CDs and even some records on vinyl. Hardcover books will go for as low as $1.
