Girls May Have Taken Missing Dog

Eyewitness told owner that girls collared and leashed dog, but he still has not been returned.

Simon, a lab, shepherd and pit bull mix, from his owner’s yard near on Thursday, had still not been returned home as of Friday.

His owner, Laura Chisholm, said she heard from a woman who told her she spotted the dog in the street at New Street and Elizabeth Avenue at about noon Thursday.

The eyewitness said she pulled over, and with the help of some younger high school or college-age girls, put a collar and leash on Simon. The girls told the witness that they would take him and report him as missing.

However, Chisholm said that, as of Friday, none of the agencies – police, veterinarians or shelters – have heard about the missing dog.

Simon is white with brown spots, weighs 50 pounds and is “overly friendly,” Chisholm said.
