Sexy St. Patty's: Men in Kilts Show Off Their Legs

Second-place finisher last two years takes first prize in 'Best Men's Legs in a Kilt' contest as snow fell in downtown Bethlehem on Saturday.

After two years of finishing in second place, Howie Cooper of Hamburg finally broke through and took first prize in the annual Best Men’s Legs in a Kilt Contest in Historic Downtown Bethlehem on Saturday morning.

Jay Coleman of Bethlehem finished in second place this year, perhaps impressing the judges when he pulled some green carnations from underneath his kilt and presented them with a pop culture flourish.

There were 15 contestants in this year’s contest, despite frigid cold and a steady snow, which Cooper credited for his victory.

The contest, held every year on Walnut Street in front of the entrance to Granny McCarthy’s Tea Room, has become a St. Patrick’s Day tradition in Bethlehem thanks to organizer Neville Gardner, proprietor of the restaurant and the adjoining Donegal Square.
