As Temperature Drops, Residents Urged to Seek Shelter

Throughout the northeast, a rapid temperature drop is forcing residents to seek shelter outside their homes.

 

Hurricane Sandy may have passed with only a few casualities, but a rapid temperature drop this evening is leaving many without power scrambling for shelter. 

According to the National Weather Service, Southern Lehigh will experience light rain throughout the evening with a low in the mid to low 30s. One death has already been attributed to hypothermia in the Lehigh Valley. 

Lehigh University has advised students to seek shelter outside of dorm rooms without power. 

Those using generators are urged to stay safe, one death has been attributed to carbon monoxide poisoning, with several additional people treated for poisioning throughout the valley

The Red Cross also has an App that will help you locate a shelter near you.
