Wednesday: Farmersville Elementary Still Closed for Mold

Back to school week continues as all three schools of Moravian Academy open up their academic year at their elementary and middle school buildings downtown and the upper school in Bethlehem Township this morning.

Asa Packer Elementary School and Spring Garden Elementary School both hold open houses tonight for parents beginning at 6 p.m.

Farmersville Elementary School remains closed because of mold problems. A decision on whether the school will open on Thursday should be made public some time today. Watch this space for updates.

Here's what else is happening in Bethlehem:

  • A plan to erect a 672-square-foot commercial billboard at 1501 Gary St. in West Bethlehem leads the agenda of the Bethlehem Zoning Hearing Board, which will meet at 7 p.m. in Town Hall. The billboard as planned would be 45 feet above grade where Route 378 passes under 14th Avenue.
  • The Bethlehem Township Zoning Hearing Board meets at 6:30 p.m. to consider an application to allow the construction of a storage shed at 4275 Fieldstone Drive. The property owner does not have the side and rear yard setbacks required under the zoning law.
  • The original Shrek—starring the voices of Mike Myers and Eddie Murphy as the ogre and the donkey—will be screened for free at 8 p.m. at the Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks.
