New Bethany Ministries provides critical services to the area’s homeless, hungry, poor and mentally ill. Keynote speaker for the 22nd annual Souper Day is the Right Rev. C. Hopeton Clennon, newly appointed senior pastor of the Central Moravian Church in Bethlehem.

- An "Enough Already" Debt Limit/Government Shutdown Rally will be held at noon at the Federal Courthouse, 504 Hamilton St., Allentown. Volunteers with the Lehigh Valley chapter of Organizing for Action will call on U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey to help resolve the government shutdown and debt limit crisis.
