Shopping Showcase and Fashion Show: Your Thursday

Get your holiday shopping under way early at the Hanover Township Community Center for the Hanover Shopping Showcase and Fashion Show.

It all gets under way at 5:30 p.m. with 57 tables of artists, jewelers, crafters, and more. A Tricky Tray Raffle will benefit the Children Services of Hanover Township Community Center.

The fashion show, sponsored by The Bon Ton and My Sister's Closet, with hair by The Hair Cuttery, starts at 7 p.m.

  • Elva Treviño Hart, the author of Barefoot Heart: Stories of a Migrant Child will discuss the day-to-day struggles of those who work in the fields while encountering an environment hostile to those who are not literate in English at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the David A. Reed Community Room, College Center, Main Campus of Northampton Community College.
  • The Creativity Commons on the first floor of the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks hosts an open mic night of music, hosted by local favorite Billy Bauer and featuring personal favorite Not For Coltrane—aka—Mike Duck. Signups begin at 6:30. Performances start at 7. Admission is free.
  • The Women’s Choir of the Charter High School for the Arts performs at 7 p.m. at Godfrey Daniels. Tickets are $10.50, $5.50 for students.
  • City Council will meet for the first budget workshop session at 7 p.m. Thursday. The schedule calls for discussion of police, fire and ambulance budgets.
