MythBusters at the Sands: Your Thursday

Also, Christkindlmarkt is open, Christmas City Follies is staged and a Gospel Choir performs a Christmas concert.

Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage, co-hosts of the Emmy-nominated Discovery Channel series MythBusters, bring a live-stage version their hit TV show to the stage at the Sands Bethlehem Event Center at 8 p.m.

The show will allow audience members to join Jamie and Adam on stage and assist in their mind-twisting and not always orthodox approach to science. Tickets are from $39.50 to $65.50.

  • Christkindlmarkt resumes for its fourth seasonal weekend at SteelStacks on Thursday, featuring aisles of handmade works by the nation’s finest artisans; traditional and contemporary holiday music; and a variety of food from vendors offering bratwursts, strudel, German roasted almonds, barbeque and more. Christkindlmarkt Bethlehem hours are Thursday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Walkup tickets are $9 for adults and $5 for children.
  • The Gospel Choir of the Lehigh Valley Charter School for the Performing Arts will perform a Christmas Concert at Godfrey Daniels at 7 p.m. Thursday. Admission is $10.50 and $5.50 for students.
  • City Council will hold its final budget hearing before scheduled adoption at 7 p.m. Thursday in Town Hall. The proposed 2014 budget offered by Mayor John Callahan calls for no tax increase, but a 15-percent hike in water and sewer rates.
  • The Christmas City Follies XIV, the Touchstone Theatre’s vaudevillian celebration of Christmas in Bethlehem, will be performed at 8 p.m. at the theater on 321 E. Fourth St. On Thursdays, Touchstone offers pay-what-you-will at the door, allowing patrons to name their own ticket price.
