If you are seeking entertainment outside of your own backyard barbecue, there are several options, including:

  • The Great Allentown Fair, which wraps up its annual run with the J&J Demolition Derby and its usual array of exhibits and food.
  • The ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks is open. Among the options there is “The Rise and Fall of Bethlehem Steel Walking Tour,” which will be given at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., and would seem a fitting way to spend part of a Labor Day. The tour includes a screening of the film Bethlehem: The Christmas City. Tour tickets are $15 for adults, $7.50 for children 6-12 and free for children under 6.
  • Finally, remember Hanson? Those three long-haired moppets who sang that song MMMBop that no one could get out of their heads once it went viral in 1997? Well, those boys are all grown up, still have a band and are recording and touring. They stop by the Sands Bethlehem Event Center for a show at 6 p.m. Tickets are $30 and $50.
