Get Out and Vote: Tuesday

It's Election Day. The polls close at 8 p.m. City Hall and most public schools are closed.

Today is Election Day. The polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.

In Bethlehem, we pick a new mayor, four members of City Council and people for a number of other elected offices.

The weather forecast should make it pleasant enough to get to your polling place. It’s supposed to be cloudy—but no rain—with a high temperature topping out at about 50 degrees.

With the exception of the pupils at Farmersville Elementary School, there is no class in the Bethlehem Area School District today, though it is a teacher’s in-service day. A makeup day is taking place at Farmersville because of the week’s delay in the start of school because of mold.

City Hall is closed for Election Day. Bethlehem City Council, which ordinarily meets the first Tuesday of the month, has rescheduled its meeting for Wednesday night.

Since it is Election Day, it is fitting that the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas in the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks is screening the Jimmy Stewart classic “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington,” at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10, less for students seniors and ArtsQuest members.
