Rock and Roll Hall of Famers The Family Stone will join KC and the Sunshine Band on the main stage at Musikfest Aug. 8, at 7 p.m., ArtsQuest announced on Monday. Tickets for the show, which are $32 and $42, go on sale May 21, 10 a.m., to ArtsQuest Members and May 24, 10 a.m., to the public. They’ll be available at www.musikfest.org and 610-332-3378. Retiring host and soon-to-be host of NBC late night television shows both scheduled to appear at Bethlehem Event Center this summer.
“Tonight Show” host Jay Leno will make his second trip to the Sands Bethlehem Event Center on Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. Sticking with the comedy theme, Vision Entertainment on Monday also announced performances by "Saturday Night Live" cast member Seth Meyers and the cast of truTV’s “Impractical Jokers.” Leno, who has been “The Tonight Show” host for most of the past 20 years, has continued to perform stand-up comedy throughout his tenure as television host. Leno appeared for a nearly sold out at the Event Center in August 2012. In March, NBC announced that Leno would retire from “The Tonight Show” at the end of the 2014 Winter Olympics and be replaced by “Late Night” host Jimmy Fallon. Chocolate-making demonstration Sunday on Main Street will show how chocolate was made during the Colonial Era.
You can learn how to make chocolate roses like they did during the Colonial Era during a special Sweet Taste of History event Sunday at the 1810 Goundie House in Historic Downtown Bethlehem. The event at 505 Main St. from noon to 4 p.m., will include a hands-on chocolate demonstration, free treats and a special appearance by Mrs. Goundie, who will show how to make chocolate flowers. 48th annual Bethlehem Fine Art and Craft Show will feature work of more than 70 artists, crafters.
The work of more than 70 juried artists and crafters will be on display along Main Street in Historic Downtown Bethlehem this weekend for the 48th annual Bethlehem Fine Art and Craft Show. The free show, which runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday will include children’s art activities sponsored by Crayola and acoustic music by Lehigh Valley Harmonizers, Easton’s Earl the Accordionist and others. The 2013 Artist in Residence is Arianne Schnalzer, an artist at the Banana Factory. Her expertise is painting, and her passion is sharing this expertise with students.
