South Bethlehem will be Cooking on First Friday

The arts -- culinary, visual, musical ... and pugilistic -- will all be on display tonight in the SouthSide for First Friday.

 

The SouthSide will be cooking tonight.

The “Master of the Grill” is the theme of this month’s First Friday, the monthly celebration of arts and culture in the SouthSide Shopping and Arts District.

will be out grilling on its patio off of S. New Street while local musicians entertain.

Over at , they’ll be trying out some new rib sauce flavors in preparation for Rib Fest in July. They’ll also be serving up fresh corn, grilled pound cake with chipotle chocolate sauce and grilled pineapple mojitos.

If you are a fan of the pugilistic arts, Friday Night Fights debuts at the new . The full night of boxing gets under way at 7 p.m. and tickets are still available.

The main event features Ronald Cruz, an undefeated welterweight from Bethlehem, and Prentice Brewer of Cleveland.  In his most recent fight, Cruz scored a unanimous 12-round decision over Allen Conyers. The co-headliner of the evening will be a 10-round junior middleweight fight between “King” Gabriel Rosado of Philadelphia, and Joel Julio, of Miami.

The fights will also air live on national television on the NBC Sports Network at 9 p.m.
