I'm only in favor of a woman, or any first for that matter, if it is the right leader. Unfortunately, I don't think she is the one. The controversy about Libya and the fallout from that is not the sort of baggage a presidential candidate needs to carry with him or her.

No. I think she would have a fighting chance, and I'd rather the democrats run a weaker candidate to give the republicans a better shot! (Remember John Kerry? What a dream candidate for the GOP.) I agree with the previous commenter that we are long overdue for a female President, but I'm not going to vote for an economically destructive left-winger just because she's a woman.

Has our society really fallen to this level? Hillary is a socialist that would make Mussolini and Stalin proud. She is still the same individual who organized rallies at Yale in support of the Black Panthers and has worked diligently ever since to erode the US Constitution, the 2nd Amendment, and our personal freedoms. It is very sad that we were even contemplate election of such an individual to represent this once great nation.

Yet, even with 0bama's miserable economic record, he was re-elected. And those same voters are already drooling for Hillary in 2016. Even being a proven liar won't keep them out of the whitehouse. Voteers have short term memories..unless of course, the name is Bush.

And yet, an apathetic and idiotic American majority re-elected these proven liars.

Joe, 1 is absolutely correct. Palin quit her elected position and while she was in office she did a lousy job. Talk to some Alaskans. Most of them have a very unfavorable view of her job as governor. The biggest reason for her popularity is the fact that she gave each Alaskan an extra $1,000 from the oil fund one of her two years in office.

And Joe, Hillary was a United States Senator not a "State Senator."

echhhh...

I'm not considering it an issue of a woman becoming president any more than I would consider it an issue of a man becoming president. If one would vote for her as a president because she is a woman, I think that person should re-assess his or her knowledge base from such a shallow point of view and vote for President based policies and issues.

But, here's why I said echhhh: Lemme see - it's 2012, and we are going to hear this for the next 4 years -- as I'm pretty sure her campaign has already started.

Let me clarify for those who have any doubt: the strongest political machine ever created - is now starting Hillary's campaign - right now - with "Is she going to run or is she not going to run?"

And I assure you that you will be hearing this as the preemptive strike for quite a bit of time - because as soon as she declares her running, the media will have to give her opponents equal time.

Then, we will be bombarded with her campaigning, and there will be no escaping. One thing the Clintons know is how to get media coverage.

Then, if you're not sick of her at that point, you will get another 4 years of her as President (are you with me so far - that's 8 years of Hillary). As soon as she is elected, she will do everything with one focus: so she gets re-elected. 12 years of Hillary. Ugh. I think I just threw up a little in the back of my throat...

Hillary? poor thing can't testify on Benghazi due to her "concussion"how will she ever. She may need to resign from the Trilteral Commission, the Council of Foreign Relations and forget her dream of heading the IMF given the "concussion". She had been a dedicated and faithful NWO girl, George Soros' right hand girl. She has helped him succeed in amassing untold fortunes hedging his money against various economies, toppling countries, - remember the British sterling? Soros broke the Bank of England, and now the USA.
Since being Sec of State, she has lead the unseating of the many heads of state of these godforsaken middle east countries - so that the muslim brotherhood could fulfill their dreams of the global caliphate - so much for women's rights. We also can thank Hillary for a dead ambassador and Seals - who knows how many others. Oh yes, there is another Bill and Hill body count: James McDougal , Mary Caitrin Mahoney, Vince Foster, Ron Brown, C. Victor Raiser II, Montgomery Raiser, Paul Tulley, Jerry Parks, Kathy Ferguson, Paul Wilcher and numerous of Clinton security personnel, and the list goes on. Then we have Hillary supporting the UN ban on small arms treaty - i wonder if Hillary has read the CONSTITUTION...We know she has read RULES FOR RADICALS. Yes, she is a socialist - a best, she is unamerican....so i'll pass on Hillary 2016. Given the "concussion", hopefully she will forget about it anyway.

HC no way no way.
HC was a dismal first lady, to busy trying to compete with her husband , dismal NY senator. She ran in that state because polls told her she could win. She spent her last 4 yrs as first lady traveling at taxpayer's exspense to choose which state to run for senate and she proved to be a dismal senator.
As S o S she has logged more hours at taxpayers expense and proved to be dismal at her job. Others had to step in and make up the gaps for her. Womens rights are important but there are many other issues that effect global stablity.
As a canidate, without her rock-star immoral husband she would not have gotten past the first 5- 10 primaries. Her campaign office was disorganized, lots of infightling and left behind a trail of unpaid bills primarily to small business. Only for the little people when it benifits Billary. Is that leadership ?
If you want a female canidate to vote for in the futureor just a good canidate regardless of gender look at Debbie Wasserman-Shultz conservative democrat in Fl.
She is smart, hardworking and can see both sides of an issue and compromise for an effective solution. The lady holds her ground with facts and common sense.

Someone mentioned not liking family dynasties and referred to the Bush era. Wouldn't it be great to have her take America back to where it was prior to the last President Bush, but strictly on her own merit. I recall her relentless pursuit of health care for all, way back when. Also, I have watched her age during her tenure as Secretary of State. She has given all she could and, I believe, she should be given the opportunity to serve (OUR) country again if she pursues it. There is no where to go but up and SHE CAN DO IT. My answer is YES! They work for the party and what the party determines is what their philosophy will be. I prefer someone who is able to make and explain his own actions so the people know where they stand. I don't trust those who can't have a dialog with the citizens until after checking with others.

Hillary will never pay her fair share but agrees we all should. I'd rather all these two faced political whores donate the fortunes they've amassed at our expense and, give up their benefits since it isn't "fsir" - no exemptions and purchase plan simllar to the rest of us. They wanted obamacare - let them sign up first and tell us how much they like it. While we are at it - since they are public servants, so salaries just the honor of being a public servant, travel at their own expense, no armed guards and security teams - now that guns will be taken away, at best restricted.. Thy also must liive by every law they pass, no special exemptions. You want an honest woman running? Both have shown that they are unintelligent puppets that even the GOP has rejected. They're credibility has been used up. I don't know much about Martinez, but it's obvious that she lacks the national appeal required to beat the likes of Hillary Clinton. The GOP needs to be smarter about the candidates they put forth if they want to be taken seriously. @Joe- pushing blame away from the real issues within the republican party isn't a solution. Buchannan, Perry, Cain, Gingrich, Santorum and Romney, and the extremists within the GOP are the reasons the republicans failed this election cycle. Stop propping up weak candidates with fringe ideals if you want to win. You blame lazy entitlement takers when it's elitist idealogues focusing on an affluent minority, abortion, the 2nd amendment, illegal immigrants and how to fuse religion and politics that are the republicans' downfall. It's your own party's fault. Deal with it.

That's very simplistic. The truth is that many of the GOP candidates have real concerns about US fiscal strength. But that doesn't sit well with those who receive entitlements or those who are used to the crony capitalism that both parties use regularly. If a candidate came out and said we are going to begin to pay more and get less and get our fiscal house in order he wouldn't have a chance.

People like being lied to and use social issues to hide behind. We never had a Christian takeover of education on a federal level as predicted, nor have we had a strong contesting of Roe V Wade. We have the 2nd amendment for one reason and that is that no one is safe when only the govt. has weapons. As for illegal immigrants, illegal is illegal. They do not share the same rights as citizens have and come here knowing that. In fact, that they come at all given the odds against them speaks to the fact that our capitalistic republic is so great it is even worth dying to participate in.

Entitlements are a means to an end - The endpoint is there will be no elections. We will have no free choice, no more Constitution, no unalienable rights, no national identity. We will have a one world govt, Under the guise of" the common good", "globalism, "environment", "social justice" redistribution, our food will be rationed, our water will be rationed, medical care will be rationed - there will be no private property ownership - no means of self defense, no United States to flee to. We will not be permitted to raise our own children. They will be raised/indoctrinated by the State.

Do you have any understanding of what the 'FAIR SHARE" nanny state nonsense really is about? They are taking away personal responsibility, accountability, our choice and independence. They are taking away our ability to reason. Why is "G-d" being attacked and taken out of public discourse? because our rights will no longer be inalienable. The "State" will replace G-d as the highest authority. Our allegiance will be to the "State". The "state" will decide what is moral or immoral, what is right and what is wrong. Now while we are all fighting -dems/repub, rich/poor, black/white , male/female, religious/atheist, liberals/conservatives - the real power machine - the international elites are robbing all of us - of our nation, our freedoms, our choice, our lives, our right of self-deterination, and our wealth. - Little by little, the govt - both parties, create crises which are then politicized, keeping us polarized, and we slowly surrender more and more of our liberties because....the majority of us are either ignorant or worn down.. The govt is not our friend. They do not represent "the people". They are bought and paid for - and very happy to have us fighting, name-calling, and unaware of what they have planned for us - the New World Order -

thanks to George Bush Sr who signed us on to UN agenda 21 and to all the administrations following - all parties - who have been implementing it under the guise of "environmental" "green" "sustainable" "global" "smart" "fairness" "biodiversity" "global warming/climate change" "redistribution" - hold on to your hats - it's going to a hell of a WAKE UP CALL. ARMAGEDDON may not mean a physical event - it just might mean - the end of the free world as we know it -Now stop the bickering, pull together - it's our only chance. Hillary Clinton? please - she is a politician - the last thing we need. If a politician is not mentioning Agenda 21 - or ILCLEI - and none of them are - then know they are not the candidate for you

Joe I agree, Jenna has much insight on Hillary (and Bill) - where they came from and what she has done and hasn't done. Just the word Clinton raises the hairs on the back of my neck and makes me cringe!

The concussion "story" is an odd one. No doctor can see a concussion. What they CAN see is a "change of mental status".
I think that's what we may have here ........

I would be thrilled if Hillary Clinton ran for the office of US President. Both domestic and global experience, highly intelligent, hard-working and tough as nails. Loves her country and has a real feel for all of the citizens of our wonderful country.

I'm not sure tough as nails is true, anymore.
Her reaction to Benghazi is not up to her standard. She has folded. In more ways than one. NOTHING should have kept her from the hearings on her friend and co-worker who died. Nothing. Well, maybe a coma ....

Ok Joe - here is your reply about the 50% (actually 46%). The majority who did not pay income taxes are those who work but do not earn enough to pay income tax. The great majority of those with low income pay the 4.2% Social Security and Medicare tax.Only 18 percent of tax filers did not have to pay either income tax or payroll taxes.
Nearly all of the people who did not pay either type of tax were elderly – 10.3 percent of total tax filers - or had incomes less than $20,000 – 6.9 percent.
But it's not just low-income people who get out of paying income taxes. About 1 percent of the top 1 percent of income earners, those making about $533,000 or more, did not pay income taxes.
The working poor do have to pay state and local taxes, sales tax, etc.
By the way, the Walmart workforce represents the largest recipient of federal aid in the country - in spite of the fact that Walmart has received over a billion dollars from local and state grants. So, if you shop at Walmart and you are against low income workers getting a tax break, you are contributing to the problem, just saying.

Joe - Merry Christmas to you. No, I would rather those who work get a decent wage in order to eliminate the need for federal assistance for food and medical care for themselves and their children. And I am totally for the assistance to the elderly and disabled (although Social Security is not really an entitlement - we put the money into the fund our entire working life).Glad you do not shop at Walmart - they create low paying jobs with crappy benefits so people work but cannot take care of essentials. The Walmart heirs are worth more than the bottom 40% of the population - and they are getting richer at the taxpayers expense. To put it into perspective, an average Walmart worker would have to work 170,000 years to match what the Walton heirs make in dividends each year. And the low wages affect all of us - federal assistance, the employees 4.2% SS and Medicare amounts are lower, state income taxes are lower and consumer spending (which drives the economy) is reduced. There needs to be a balance - this is capitalism gone awry, like the robber barons.
Now the 10% of federal assistance that goes to non working poor does need discussion, I agree - a fairly small amount in the overall scheme of things but I have worked my whole life and feel others should do the same. But assistance to the elderly, disabled and working poor should always be available. And if job creators paid a reasonable rate and moved some of their manufacturing back here, we, all of us, would be better off.

Walmart pays a lower wage to keep those prices competitive.
America shops at Walmarts!
This is not an issue that can be solved with a nice paycheck and some perks. You need to get everyone to want to pay more to "pay" more!

The reason employers move people to govt. programming is because it's there and it's easy to get. If our safety net truly was a safety net and not a life style the market place would demand better wages and likely get them. But why bother when the govt. will take money from others and redistribute it so Walmart doesn't have to?

Just the fact that Obamacare, gives the poor and struggling basic medical and the well-being of knowing they are WORTHY of care, can be huge in a person bouncing off povertys pit. Were a more decent Nation to care for our poor and sick, without setting them back, financially-or breaking their healing power by upsetting someone over hospital$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

We DO care for our poor and our sick. We just don't have enough to make it a lifetime "supplement".
A safety net and a paycheck are two different things.

i been saying that as well, however, the republicans only want the lifetime benefits for themselves. why haven't they tried to pass anything that stops their ridiculous bloated lifetime pensions and healthcare on our dimes? one thing with repubs is they are always hypocrites. certain ones at least stand out and are true, Ron Paul and Gary Johnson. The rest want to milk it and take take take from us for themselves only

It's not the Patches' fault though, they're just providing a place for the local community to voice it's opinions...unfortunately its seems it attracts a bunch of idiots!
I wish there were a place to have a reasonable discourse but the Patch sure isn't that place!

I would disagree. most republicans cant handle the truth. Reagan is their savior, yet the man raised taxes, agreed with wealth redistribution, and spent like there was no tomorrow. Please explain. Also, the same was with Mitt Romney, yet they still voted for him. The man was for gun control, for abortion, for stimulus packages, for government handouts, pretty much the biggest liberal to run on the republican ticket, yet....yet, he still got votes. All by giving the people what they wanted to hear, he said the complete opposite of what he said 45 minutes prior. Real leadership there. Now his son Tagg even comes out and says Mitt never wanted to really be president anyway. Wow. Would of fooled his voters.

Tony... Romney lost...its irrelevent. The biggest lie in political history was pulled off by Barrack Hussein Obama. "YES WE CAN"..."CHANGE". all that meant was get ready for Socialism . Most voters had no clue what Made Obama tick and what his real agenda was.
You can spin Reagan all you want but our nations economy grew exponentially under his Presidency and our country was respected/feared by the world. He helped bring down the remnants of Communism. Whats Obama's legacy...Obamacare..!!!!!!!!Please ...dont compare Reagan to Obama...
He isn't in Reagan's league.

joe....Reagan is Obama like. Educate yourself on the subject. Watch the 2 speak. Very Very similar. Even the content coming out of each other's mouths are the similar. Bush took more of our rights away than any president ever. Patriot Act. The biggest lie in history is Bush's presidency. 1. he lost the election, still got elected. 2. 9/11. 3. the financial collapse that we NEVER saw in the history of US. 4. the decades it will take to recover from his financial disaster 5. the 2 wars he started and the lives we lost and the rebuilding of other countries

The only difference between Reagan and Obama is that Reagan raised taxes almost every year he was President. Obama has cut taxes for the first 4 years. So off the bat, Reagan has more years of raising taxes than Obama. We will see over the next 4 years or so, but even if Obama raises taxes the next 4 years, Reagan still has him beat with the amount of years he raised taxes during his Presidency.

Dear Joe Sommers: I pay way more taxes percentage-wise than Mitt Romney and others in the 1%. And I contribute to society financially, patriotically, and through community efforts and charity. Proud, card-carrying Democrat, I remain...liberally happy. Liberal is not a four-letter word. It means open-minded and tolerant and educated.

Do you have a charitable organization?
Is "liberally happy" just a euphemism for ... dumb?
As for that "open-minded and tolerant", are you sure that even those who are not registered at all, are not "open-minded and tolerant", let alone the GOP?
