Obama "Gotta Vote" Project Comes to Area Saturday

Obama volunteers will conduct a voter registration drive in Lehigh Valley on Saturday

Volunteers supporting President Barack Obama's reelection will gather in Allentown on Saturday, June 16 as part of a statewide "Gotta Vote" project.

Organizing for America Pennsylvania (OFA PA) volunteers and community leaders will host voter registration drives in communities across the state to talk to people one-on-one about what’s at stake in the presidential election and remind them of the importance of making their voices heard in November.

In Allentown, volunteers will gather at the Allentown OFA PA Office at 1031 W Linden Street to register voters and educate people about the latest voter registration and voting laws.

Saturday's event is timed to coincide with a Pennsylvania visit by GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

GottaVote.org is a one-stop shop for getting the facts on voting, reminders for key dates and deadlines, and alerts on the status of voting rights in your state.

What is at stake in this next POTUS election? I look forward to hearing from those of you who will revote for Obama. Please, steer clear of the tiring talking points sent out by the far left overlords. I have yet to have too many, who are pro Obama, provide anything that even resembles a well reasoned, factual, objective, not pumped with magical thinking or hyperbolic propaganda on why they will continue to support him. Remember, in 2008, hope and change was a promise, today it is a reality of a bait and switch melange of things not hoped for, nor the right change needed and to the long term detriment of us all. Tell me, what is the definition of insanity?

He hasn't outlined ANYTHING he will do to fix the economy. They vote for him because they are dimwits, who believe in magic pixie dust, and because they are jealous others have more than they do.

So, the 8 years under George W. Bush were utopian? What has Mitt Romney brought to the table that doesn't reflect more of the same? How can anyone take the republicans seriously when their best choice is a multi millionaire who stores his money off shore so he can skirt his tax liability. Where's your outrage over that? Guess we should all work the system to our advantage, unless of course you're poor, a minority or a woman cuz that's considered an entitlement. Ridiculous. I'm an independent. I don't necessarily support Obama, but I'm not buying what the republicans are selling. Job creators...where? China...Indonesia. That's a canard in my mind...

But the road we are on under Obama leads to some very bad places. Food prices are up. Unemployment is not any better and the so called Health care reform will do way more harm than good. I am not a great big Romney fan, but I am ready to try a president who has some experience leading and in the business world.

Bull... you are an Obama liberal. You are not "independent". You have completely bought into Obama nonsense, because you have no ability to reason for yourself. Do some homework. Maybe you'll figure out a successful businessman is better suited to fix and economy than a community organizer who never held a job. You are just an Obuma Zombie.

...Government should stay out of the free market unless it's about corporate subsidies and generous tax loop holes. Government should stay out of our private lives unless it's about which gender is marrying which or which God we pray to, or don't. Let's pack our prisons while cutting education and vilifying teachers. Woman don't need reproductive rights or health benefits that include birth control, but erectile disfunction is a "medical condition". The EPA is blocking industry thru environmental regulations that are too heavy handed, yet all one needs to do is visit the Palmerton superfund site to see the impact of unregulated industry, love canal...and I think it was the Ohio River that caught fire due to pollution. I'm not saying that democrats have all the answers either, nor am I openly supporting them, but the republicans must think Americans are just plain stupid.

I can't say it better than Amend. Excellent..Well said..Yes, the answer to your question is Republicans do think Americans are just plain stupid..That why they continue to cut funding to educaton..They assume everyone will then sit in front of TV and watch Fox news and learn all they need to know, lol.

But is it right to cripple the economy to improve an environment that is already so much better than it was 30 yrs ago? At some point we need some balance or else the environment will be in great shape but the people will be starving!

Jim Gregory... what Republican cut funding? Corbett is spending more now than Fatty Rendell EVER did. And Obama is the one who cut the stimulus money that is now leading to so many layoffs.

Are you fact challenged? Or are you a member of the Rachel Maddow fan club? You are a dimwit Ed Schultz parrot.

We lost about 600,000 jobs the month president Obama took office. We gained 69,000 jobs last month. While that's not a great number, this president had to fight an up hill battle to get us where we are today. Romney wants to undo that work, and will reverse the progress our economy is making. That is why President Obama has my support.

what kind of jobs are they? public sector? service industry? I'm not defending republicans...people on both sides of the aisle are responsible for destroying the real jobs in this country...but the jobs being "created" now are nothing.

Creating public sector jobs is just the taking the money from the right hand to pay the left hand. Nothing real is created. We need private sector jobs.

Jim Gregory...you believe that it's the right that thinks Americans are stupid? Liberals are the ones who believe that the government has to take care of the "ignorant masses"...and actually it's a play just to gain more control. I believe it's the people that made the country what it is (or was)...not a bunch of ivy-league grads with no real world experience.

The most stupid people are the Latinos who think Obama will do ANYTHING for them... he had 2 years with a Democratic House and Senate and he did NOTHING. Now he throws them a bone, and he knows damn well he won't do a thing for them, and in fact can't get anything done with the Republicans, because he has completely alienated the Republicans. If he gets elected, Latinos can expect NOTHING to happen in the next four years, AND the economy to suck for four more years. Even if you believe Romney won't do anything for illegals, at least he can get the economy moving, which will help legals and illegals.

As a small business owner I fear another 4 years of Obama. I will not hire another person with this anti-business president who has jeapordized my business with his health care proposals and his rhetoric against those who took a chance in life and are finally making it. I prefer to be a smaller business with less risk. He simply wants risk takers to invest their own capital, efforts and time and if the risk pans out....he wants us to support leaches who simply want a government hand out and don't want the gravy train to end. Obama has no intention to reduce our government debt and eventually this country will have to fold since we can't "print" money forever and expect some fool to keep buying our IOUs. We cannot pay off one credit card bill with another credit card for long which is what we are doing right now. I feel sorry for the naive voters who are clueless as to what is transpiring in this nation and only thing about what they can get "today" from the government. This will be my 10th time voting for a president and never in that time have I feared for the future of this nation as I do now.

Obama is no better than W. Obama kills babies when he uses drones to get people on his hit list. Obama sin Laden uses the results of Bush torture techniques to get the info to kill Osama bin Laden. Obama keeps Guantanomo opened.

And in spite of his most recent pronunciation about immigration, Obama has deported more in 3 years than Bush did in 8.

Obama is as much of a tool of the bankers as any of his predecessors, if not more. The bankers supported him in 2007-08 becuase they knew that they could work with him. You might recall that it was McCain who was holding up the Bush/Pelosi/Obama bank bailout just before the 2008 election.

Jamie Dimon (yes that one of the Chase $2 billion) was an early supporter of Obama when he was just a state senator in Illinois and when Dimond was CEO of Bank One in Chicago! (see Charles Gasparino's excellent footnoted book called "Bought and Paid for" to get details). Dimon has visited the White House so many times that people here joke of him as being the shadow Terasury secretary. The Obama economic team comes thru a revolving door with Goldman Sachs and other investment banks - even Rahm Emmanual worked for Goldman in between his stints with Clinton, in Congress, and as Obama's chief of staff. Not to mention Larry Summers and John Corzine of MF Global fame, who would have been next in line to succeed Tiny Tim Geithner.

At least we knew where Bush stood - Obama is far more dangerous since he is a wolf in sheep's clothing.
