Liberty Senior Charged with Felony Sex Crime
18-year-old Liberty High School senior is accused of carrying on a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old who also attends Liberty.
An 18-year-old Liberty High School senior has been charged with a felony sex crime for allegedly carrying on a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old boy who also goes to Liberty, according to court papers.
Christopher Perez, 18, of 631 E. North St., allegedly exchanged nude pictures with the 13-year-old in September and the two teens made arrangements to meet for a tryst in October, according to the arrest warrant.
According to the affidavit, Perez admitted to the relationship and sending the nude pictures. “He’s 13 years old. I felt it was going too far, but I never had feelings for another person like this,” Perez allegedly told Bethlehem police.
Perez consented to a police search of the contents of his cell phone. Numerous nude pictures of Perez and the alleged victim and text messages between the two teens were found.
Perez was charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse -- a first-degree felony -- and corruption of minors, a misdemeanor. He was arraigned before District Judge Roy Manwaring and released on his own recognizance.
