James Narlesky Retains Magisterial Seat
But Wayne Maura will have November challenge from 22-year-old Justin Serfass.
Magisterial District Judge James J. Narlesky has apparently reclaimed his office for another six-year term as he has beaten challenger Samuel P. Royer in both Democratic and Republican primaries, according to unofficial vote tallies.
At the same time, District Judge Wayne Maura of West Bethlehem will have to face down challenger Justin R. Serfass again in November.
Though Maura appeared well on his way to defeating Serfass in the Democratic primary by a 2-1 margin, according to the Lehigh County voter registration website, he was not on the Republican ballot. The results posted are not official.
Serfass, 22, and a recent Moravian College graduate, was unopposed on the GOP ballot.
Narlesky, who serves Bethlehem’s 14th Ward and Hanover Township in Northampton County, bested Royer, a mortgage banker, by a 3-1 margin in the Democratic primary and by 12 percent, or more than 180 votes on the GOP ballot
