Members of the press got a first look at the new Sands Bethlehem Event Center as the first artists set to perform there later this year were announced Friday by Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem, along with Vision Entertainment and Live Nation Entertainment.
The center is designed to provide the ultimate live music experience, promoters said, with all seats no further than 137 feet from the stage.
With the event center officially opening for the first show on May 16, Incubus will be the first act to play the new venue, followed by country star Alan Jackson on May 19, Celtic punk rockers Flogging Molly on May 24, and Paul Anka on May 27.
“The goal of the Sands Bethlehem Event Center is to offer a wide variety of entertainment to our guests,” said Jerry Deifer, co-founder of Vision Entertainment Group. “We are very excited about the scope of talent coming to the venue.”
The new performing venue will also host a new night spot at the Sands, with Vision Bar set to open on Saturday, May 12. It will be open seven days a week.
Tickets to the first shows at the new event center will be available on Friday, Feb. 17 at 10 a.m. at www.SandsEventCenter.com, www.ticketmaster.com, the Event Center Box Office on the street level at The Shoppes at Sands retail mall and by-phone at 610-625-5500 or 800-745-3000.
More shows are set to be announced later, promoters promised.
“This is a very exciting time as we begin a new era of live music in the Lehigh Valley,” said Geoff Gordon, President of Live Nation Mid-Atlantic.
