Fire Destroys Jennings Street Home
Two Bethlehem firefighters injured battling the blaze.
Two city firefighters were injured battling a blaze that destroyed a home at 1011 Jennings St. this afternoon, according to this report on The Morning Call website.
The occupants were able to escape and get two dogs and two cats out with them, Bethlehem Fire Marshal Robert Novatnack told the newspaper.
One firefighter suffered a minor burn to his neck, while another had to be treated for heat exhaustion.
The American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley also responded to the scene to provide meals, clothing and toiletry items to the family. Organization spokeswoman Janice Osborne said the organization will continue to work with the victims through the recovery process.
