2 Hurt in Police Car Crash in Bethlehem

Squad car and a small Honda collided at the intersection of E. Market and High streets on Wednesday

 

 

A Bethlehem police cruiser and another car collided at the intersection of E. Market and High streets sometime around 3 p.m. Wednesday, according to published reports.

The driver of the civilian vehicle was a 78-year-old woman who complained of pain in her knee and arm, according to The Morning Call, which cited police scanner reports.

The woman, who was driving a small Honda, was placed in the back of an ambulance, according to The Express Times. Air bags deployed in both vehicles, the newspaper reported.

The police officer suffered cuts to the head and was taken to St. Luke’s University Hospital in Fountain Hill for treatment, according to both news sources quoting Police Chief Jason Schiffer.

The crash is still under investigation.

The crash is under investigation so the police can figure out out a way to shift the blame to the civilian driver.

No, not in this case. I witnessed the accident. The woman ran the stop sign, the officer was on Market (no stop sign) & she drilled him.
