As part of the final day of festivities at Peeps Fest, 14 mascots appeared under the big tent in the morning, and then ran a 50-yard dash at 12:30 p.m.

Competing against such notables as the Nittany Lion, the Moravian College Greyhound, IronPigs' FeRROUS and FeFe and the Just Born Peep, the Chic-Fil-A cow hoofed it to victory.

This was the first Mascot Day at Peeps Fest, which is organized by ArtsQuest. Peeps Fest is taking place in the Christkindlmarkt tents at Spring and Main Streets.

From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. today, Dec. 31, all the mascots will be available for pictures. There was a 5K race for people at 1 p.m. and there will be two fireworks displays tonight, the first at 5:45 p.m. and the second at midnight.
