Bites Nearby: Hellertown Diner

The Hellertown Diner is a great place to meet friends and enjoy a wide variety of comfort food.

The Hellertown Diner is a fairly recent arrival to the Saucon Valley restaurant scene, but has already become a culinary institution of sorts thanks to its popularity with local residents.

The diner, which is located in a renovated building that once housed a Burger King franchise, is known for its expansive menu, reasonable prices and fast, friendly service.

It's also the kind of restaurant in which one is likely to run into friends, neighbors, and yes, even a local dignitary or two.

The diner's relaxed atmosphere, generous portions and "comfort food" menu choices (think meatloaf and mashed potatoes with gravy or chicken noodle soup) are as welcoming to solitary customers as they are to larger groups.

If one is not in the mood for a big meal, the diner is a convenient place for a quick cup of coffee and dessert.

Diner owner Bill Christogiannis and his family are believers in supporting the community that supports them, and in the past have helped sponsor the Saucon Valley Farmers' Market.

The Hellertown Diner is located at 29 Main Street (Route 412), adjacent to the Shoppes at Hellertown, and is open daily from 6am to 10pm.

The diner offers both booth and table seating, and can accommodate private parties in its rear room.

Major credit cards are accepted, an ATM is available and the diner is handicapped-accessible.

The diner also features a bulletin board in its vestibule, which is a popular place for area residents to post announcements and flyers.
