Blue Grillhouse and Molly's Irish Grille & Sports Pub will square off today with 23 other Lehigh Valley restaurants in what has become an annual Super Bowl Sunday tradition.
Pearly Baker's Alehouse has hosted the Superbowl of Chili for the past 17 years, challenging area chefs to bring their best chili recipe.
Don't come expecting a tough man contest for the tongue. Most chefs worry more about flavor than heat.
Do expect to wait in line for awhile; this event -- which runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. -- usually draws a lot of people. There's a $5 donation to sample the different chilis. Proceeds this year go to the Center for Animal Health and Welfare in Williams Township.
This year's contestants include:
- Megs & Mads
- Let's Talk Turkey
- River Grille
- Easton Salsa Co.
- Porter's Pub
- Quadrant
- Melt
- Terry's
- J & R Smokehouse
- Interstate Cafe
