No one is funding the Occupy protests, the Tea Party on the other hand, is funded by the Koch Brothers. The tax breaks have been tried and still 58,000 manufacturing facilities closed in the US from 2000 to 2008. President Reagan raised taxes on the wealthy 11 times. The shrinking middle class is getting angry about the 1% of the country controlling the economy. It's a Have & Have-nots situation, "Let them eat cake?"

The deletion of the words "personnel department" with the words "human resources" is symptomatic of the dehumanization of individuals by corporations. Resources are things that are used up, like iron ore. The words "human resources" make me think of a process of "using up people and discarding them." We are not inanimate objects to be "burned up" in a corporate meat grinder.

There are too many Ebenezer Scrooge types. We need more reformed Scrooges. Why was A CHRISTMAS CAROL by Charles Dickens so popular and WHY IS IT STILL SO POPULAR TODAY? The answer is brutally obvious to those of us who have been sacrificed because of corporate greed and mismanagement.

I had a boss named Bob and a supervisor named Stan who would rip themselves apart trying to maintain employee job security and customer satisfaction. They were both driven out because of corporate greed. Eventually, it got to me.

A corporation is a thing. We little people who work for it, or used to, are alive. We have souls, we have families with souls who need us. The corporate leaders who have lost theirs should get them back before they destroy the heart of America.

We all can recall when the left and their minions in the media where out to demonize Bush and his administration, we had all sorts of "peace" protests. We had marches, Hollywood movies, Political Cartoons, Doonesbury strips, and letters to the editor galore against Guantanamo Bay, Abu Graib, Afghanistan, Iraq, renditions, wiretaps, you name it. It was a 24/7 hate fest directed at Bush, Rumsfeld, and Cheney ostensibly over government intervention and maliciousness. We had Cindy Sheehan and Camp Casey. The Dixie Chicks trashing America. The assassination movie about Bush. MoveOn.org placing an ad in the New York Slimes calling General David Patraus "General Betrayus". The list is endless and it went on for 8 years. Isn't it interesting now how we don't hear jack-squat about Obama sending an additional 40,000 troops to Afghanistan, our military intervention in Libya, predator drones killing hundreds or thousands, the continued operation of Gitmo, the continuation of virtually every Bush era tactic for fighting the war on terror, or this week, the Holder Justice Department's secret memo allowing for the assassination of U.S. citizens on foreign soil with no habeas corpus. Where is Cindy Sheehan these days anyway?

The only thing the left REALLY cares about is winning elections and political power. These protests are pure political theater and these protestors, whether they are smart enough to know it or not, are just sock puppets for George Soros and the liberal elites in this country. Guy Fawkes indeed. The clown with the mask on simply wants Obama re-elected and this is just part of David Axelrod’s campaign strategy. Sorry to sound so cynical, but if I’m wrong, then why is virtually everything the left whined about under Bush now ignored? Why aren’t these protestors “occupying” the sidewalks outside of the Whitehouse? Its political theater and nothing more.

They really really need to teach Civics in our schools. Ignorance over how our economy works is really widespread. It even extends to the White House!

It's unfair to label all the protesters as Communists. More damage has been done to our nation from right wing pundits than Kruschev could have imagined. Divide & conquer, demonize the other side, deny their right to express an opinion, cloud the issues and preserve the Status Quo. The Occupy movement is questioning the system, they don't have a set list of demands, no one person speaks for this group.
These people are, the foreclosed homeless, the uninsured, the outsourced workers, kids stuck with huge student loans. These are our brothers, sisters friends and neighbors. As long as special interests conspire to make middle America pay for their greed, I believe this movement will continue.

Amazing how they protest Wall Street who gives most of their money to elect DEMOCRATS! Maybe all those protesters should start looking for a new party to join!

Special interests DOMINATE our political and economic system - undemocratic, promote the unique interest of a rich corporation via million dollar lobbyist, and make TRUE COMPETITION AND DEMOCRACY IMPOSSIBLE because they pay good, hard money to GET A COMPETITIVE EDGE over their smaller, less well-heeled competitors. Do small, local businesses have jets? Do small, local construction companies get direct subsidies for their construction projects? Do small, local farmers get subsidies to use public lands or equipment at low cost or do they have to pay for the land they use? Do small, local apparel businesses get government subsidies so they can get their products cheaper? Can small, local banks sell your personal information (including social security numbers)to big, national telemaketers for a profit (and you can't opt out). Can small, local factories get away with foisting the cost of air and water pollution cleanups on the MIDDLE CLASS TAXPAYER? Can a small, local company get a tax break by hiring employees overseas? But we all know that the biggest corporations, the ones that pay well heeled lobbyists and public relations firms millions and congressmen thousands in order to get TENS OF BILLIONS WORTH OF TAX BREAKS THAT THE OVERWORKED MIDDLE CLASS HAS TO PAY FOR...AND PAY FOR...AND PAY FOR, GET ALL THESE THINGS. We just get numb to it after a while.

If they were petitioning in favor of restrictions on or tariffs on Chinese good I would be in favor. They are panhandling for laundry, medical and metal health services whilest they protest the "system" the supplied those services. Like we used to say to the Hippies of the 60's "Get a job, get a haircut!"
