Annual Memorial Day Parade Marches Monday

Police horses, school bands and, of course, veterans will parade up Linden Street to the Memorial Park Cemetery, starting 9 a.m.

The annual Bethlehem Memorial Day Parade and service will take place from about 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday morning along Linden Street and the Bethlehem Memorial Park Cemetery.

Among the parade participants will be the Bethlehem Police Department Mounted Unit, the Broughal Middle School Band and the Liberty High School Grenadiers.

Participants will line up in front of Liberty High School starting at 8:30 a.m. and the parade is expected to start from there between 9 and 9:15.

Participants will move north on Linden Street to the Memorial Cemetery where the service will take place. No featured speakers are planned. The weather forecast calls for partly cloudy skies and a high temperature in the middle 70s.

The annual parade is hosted by the United Veterans of Bethlehem and the Lehigh Valley Military Affairs Council.
