5 Things to Know Today

Ladies can learn the basics of football from the coach of the SteelHawks tonight.

 

Good morning, Bethlehem. Today is Wednesday, August 17, 2011.

  1. Applebutter Road will undergo some summertime maintenance by PennDOT work crews beginning today. Expect lane restrictions and possible delays.
  2. Looking for financial aid to get more education to advance or change your career? CareerLink Lehigh Valley will host a Funding Education seminar and workshop at 10 a.m. this morning at its offices at 1601 Union Boulevard, Allentown.
  3. It's Stacks in the City - ladies night at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks. For the women who want to relate better to their football-loving guy, the free program is Football 101: A Girls Guide to Football. Your teacher is Rich Britt, coach of the Lehigh Valley SteelHawks. It all begins at 6 p.m. in the Lee & Stella Yee Connect Zone on the first floor of the center.
  4. Parents of new students about to enroll in Nitschmann Middle School are invited to parents’ orientation at the school auditorium at 6:30 p.m.
  5. Movies, Games & More is hosting a free showing of the movie Date Night, a comedy of mistaken identity starring Tina Fey and Steve Carell. Festivities start at Fairview Park at 7 p.m. The movie starts after dark.
