2 Bethlehem Dogs Compete at Westminster

Rhodesian Ridgebacks from Bethlehem ready for popular dog show

A Bethlehem couple has two entries in the Westminster Kennel Club Show  being held Monday and Tuesday at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

This year, Pennsylvania has the third highest number of entries in the Westminster show, with New Jersey fourth, according to Lehigh Valley Live.

More than a dozen Lehigh Valley dogs will compete.

Heather and Joe Trapasso have two Rhodesian Ridgeback contenders - the breed with the most entries for the second year in a row. Rhodesian Ridgebacks are large, muscular dogs known as hunters and family protectors, according to the American Kennel Club.

Vince, whose formal name is Grand Champion Spring Valley’s Great Vincero, will be shown by Courtney Norris in his first visit to the Westminster show.

Lilly, officially known as Grand Champion Spring Valley’s Rave Review O Lilly, is making her second Westminster appearance.

About 2,000 dogs will compete in the event, which concludes with Best in Show judging featuring one dog from each group Tuesday night.
