St. Luke's Names Chief Operating Officer of Bethlehem Campus
Carol Kuplen has been Network's Nursing Chief for Past Eleven Years
Carol Kuplen, MSN, BSN, of Bethlehem, was recently named Chief Operating Officer (COO) of St. Luke's Hospital - Bethlehem Campus. In this newly created position, Carol will be responsible for the operations, fiscal performance, quality outcomes and strategic initiatives for the Bethlehem-based hospital and related sites. In addition to her new campus-specific COO responsibilities, Carol will retain her role as Chief Nursing Officer for the St. Luke's Hospital & Health Network.
Robust Health Care Experience
Carol has 32 years experience in the nursing field and 24 years of hospital management experience, joining St. Luke's in 1987 as a patient care manager and then as the director of the Cancer Program for the Network. In 2002, Carol joined the St. Luke's Network senior administration as a Vice President and Senior Nurse Executive.
Carol earned her nursing diploma at Pittston Hospital in Pittston, PA and graduated from Georgetown University in Washington, DC with her bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). She completed her master's degree in nursing (MSN) at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She was a Sigma Theta Tau Chiron Fellow in 2003 and a Johnson & Johnson Wharton Fellow in 2004.
